Hello from your teachers!

Welcome! Founded, owned, and operated by Amy Rowswell and Angela Glorioso, Strong Foundations Preschool is eager to play and learn together with your child to grow a strong foundation for a strong future. Amy and Angela have been friends for almost 17 years. Together, they have nearly 40 years experience in educating young children in various settings. It has long since been a dream of theirs to own and operate their own preschool. They are honored to have a hand in building a strong foundation in your child’s preschool years and look forward to watching them grow into their bright, strong futures!

Ms. Amy

My name is Amy Rowswell, and I am blessed to have joined my friend Angela in founding and operating Strong Foundations Preschool, LLC. I am passionate about providing a fun, welcoming, and educational preschool experience for children. I truly love working with children of all ages, especially the birth to five age range; I believe this is such a crucial time in a child’s life for growing and developing. The preschool age especially draws me because of their curiosity, eagerness to learn, silliness, and loving hearts.

I graduated from Western Washington University with a major in Linguistics, minor in Communication Sciences and Disorders, and American Sign Language as my foreign language. I have also taken endless hours of classes and trainings on early childhood development. I have worked in the daycare setting for many years, as a lead preschool teacher, a lead infant room teacher, and a program supervisor. I have taught in a private preschool, been a professional caregiver, a nanny, and most importantly, a wife and mom. I always strive to model kindness and respect to the children and families in my care; I believe these traits are so important in this world.

My husband, Thomas, is a teacher and basketball coach. He and I have been together since 2001 and married since 2006. We were both born and raised in Olympia and are now raising our three wonderful daughters (entering 12th grade, 9th grade, and 3rd grade in Fall 2025) in our beloved hometown. We are a very active family, involved in all sorts of music and sports. We enjoy playing card and board games together, working/playing outside, sports (especially basketball, soccer, and watersports), spending time with family and friends, and vacationing anywhere near water – some of our favorite spots are our cabin on the lake and Orcas Island. My favorite color is turquoise, I love to read and be creative (draw, decorate, craft), chai tea and popcorn are my favorite afternoon treats, and my favorite pastime is hanging with my husband and girls whether it’s playing games together, being their biggest fan at games & concerts, or on family adventures. I can’t wait to have a fantastic school year with you at Strong Foundations Preschool!

Ms. Angela

My name is Angela Glorioso, and I am honored to be your child’s teacher this year! Strong Foundations Preschool has been a dream of mine since college. I am blessed to work alongside Amy as we partner to make this dream a reality. I believe children learn first and foremost by their senses, emotions, and environment. I am passionate about social/emotional learning and teaching to the individual child. I look forward to getting to know you and your student as we both learn and grow together!

I have worked in early childhood education my entire career. I graduated from Washington State University in Vancouver with a BA in Human Development and minor in Early Childhood Education. I have worked in nearly every aspect of early education for the past 27 years including Head Start/ECAEP, private preschool, licensed child care, church nursery ministry, and even as a nanny in Europe! I was also fortunate enough to be a stay at home mom when my children were young. I have worked with a child care center to design, manage, and teach a private preschool. I have most recently come from a licensed child care center as a Program Supervisor where I worked directly with Amy to support staff, develop lesson plans, welcome incoming families, manage classroom environments and transitions, and much more!

I currently live in Lacey with Sean, my husband of 20 years, our son, Giuseppe (12th grade), daughter, Gianna (8th grade) and her cat, Cleo. Our adult son, Ethan, is 26 and lives in Anchorage, AK. I grew up here in the Northwest and have called Washington home my entire life. Many of our extended family lives in the area and we are fortunate enough to see them often. We love to explore new places on day trips around the area visiting museums, enjoying our unique NW scenery, and chasing the elusive perfect cup of coffee! I enjoy walking, reading, cheering for the Mariners, and family road trips. My favorite color is red, the beach is my happy place, I love to cook, and I am addicted to coffee! I am looking forward to getting to know you and your family this year!
