Hello from your teachers!

Ms. Amy

My name is Amy Rowswell and I look forward to getting to know you and your preschooler this year! I am passionate about providing a fun, welcoming, and educational preschool experience for children. Being a mom, I understand the importance and value of quality teachers and a positive school environment for children before they head off to kindergarten. I believe birth to five years old is such a crucial time in a child’s life for growing and developing, and I love being a teacher that can provide a great experience for families.

I graduated from Western Washington University with a major in Linguistics, minor in Communication Sciences and Disorders, and American Sign Language as my foreign language. I have also taken countless hours of classes and trainings on early childhood development. I have worked in the daycare setting for many years as a lead teacher and most recently as a program supervisor along side of Angela. I have also taught in a private preschool, been a professional caregiver, a nanny, and my most favorite job - a wife and mom.

My husband, Thomas, is a teacher and basketball coach. He and I have been together since 2001 and married since 2006. We were both born and raised in Olympia and are now proud to be raising our three daughters (11th grade, 8th grade, and 2nd grade) in our beloved hometown. We are a very active family, all involved in music and sports. We enjoy card/board games together, sports (especially basketball, soccer, running, pickleball, and watersports), spending time with family/friends, and vacationing anywhere near water – some of our favorite spots are our lake cabin, Orcas Island, and Seabrook. My favorite color is turquoise, I love chai lattes, chocolate, popcorn, and ciders, I enjoy being creative, decorating/renovating, reading, and my most favorite time spent is with my husband and girls.

Ms. Angela and I have been friends for about 15 years, have worked together at a local childcare center for four years prior to opening Strong Foundations, and have dreamt of opening our own preschool since our children were young. We know our long-time friendship is a perfect foundation for our partnership in Strong Foundations Preschool, LLC.

Ms. Angela

My name is Angela Glorioso, and I am honored to be your child’s teacher this year! Strong Foundations has been a dream of mine since college, and working together with Amy has really made that dream come true! I believe children learn first and foremost by their senses, emotions, and environment. I am passionate about social/emotional learning and teaching to the individual child.

I have worked in early childhood education my entire career. I graduated from Washington State University in Vancouver with a BA in Human Development and minor in Early Childhood Education. I have worked in nearly every aspect of early education for the past 25 years including Head Start/ECAEP, private preschool, licensed child care, church nursery ministry, and even as a nanny in Europe! I was also fortunate enough to be a stay at home mom when my children were young. I have worked with a child care center to design, manage, and teach a private preschool. I have most recently come from a licensed child care center as a Program Supervisor where I worked directly with Amy to support staff, develop lesson plans, welcome incoming families, manage classroom environments and transitions, and much more!

I currently live in Lacey with my husband of 19 years, with our son Giuseppe (11th grade) and daughter Gianna (7th grade) and her cat, Cleo. Our adult son, Ethan, is 25 and lives in Anchorage, AK. I grew up here in the Northwest and have called Washington home my entire life. I enjoy walking, reading, and hanging out at my family’s beach property. My favorite color is red, the beach is my happy place, I love to cook, and I am addicted to coffee! I am looking forward to getting to know you and your family this year!
